What is the Percentage Increase Calculator?

Measure growth relative to an original value.

How to Use

Enter the original positive value and the new nonnegative value.

Select Calculate after entering your values. Text tools update as you type. Reset restores the starting fields.

Interpreting the Calculation

A positive result measures growth from the old baseline. A negative result means the new value is smaller. Swapping the values changes the denominator and therefore changes the percentage.

Common Questions

Why is a zero starting value rejected?

Percentage change divides by the original value. Division by zero does not produce a defined growth percentage.

What assumptions does this tool use?
