Formula / Calculation Method
Grade = sum(score × weight) / sum(weight).
Example Calculation
80 at 40% weight and 90 at 60% weight give 86%.
Understanding the Result
Positive weights may total less than 100 for a current grade, but cannot exceed 100. Remaining weight is reported separately.
What is the Grade Calculator?
Calculate a weighted current grade across assignments.
How to Use
Enter each score as a percentage and its assigned weight. Weights must be positive and cannot total more than 100%.
Select Calculate after entering your values. Text tools update as you type. Reset restores the starting fields.
Interpreting the Calculation
The current grade is normalized to the assignments entered. If you enter only 40% of the course’s weight, the current result is not a prediction of the final grade.
Common Questions
What does unassigned weight mean?
It is 100 minus the entered weights, representing the share of the course not included in this calculation.
What assumptions does this tool use?
Positive weights may total less than 100 for a current grade, but cannot exceed 100. Remaining weight is reported separately.
